The fourth annual Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Car Show and Arts and Craft Faire successfully took place at Sequoia High School, Sunday, June 24, 2007.  Many Kiwanians, participants, and onlookers came to share a beautiful, sunny day, strolling through aisles of shiny, colorful, metal nostalgia, and rockin’-and-a-reelin’ to “Brother Buzz”.

Setting up on Saturday, and continuing through to Sunday’s event were Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanians; Roy and Melanie Souffront (and kids), George and Jan Borg, Donna Vailancourt, Mike Akana, and Thanos, Larry Graves, Lynne Mercer, Craig Thorson, Barbara Liedtke, Maureen Fish, Nicole McKay (and her niece), Glenda and Dylan McGuire, Elizabeth Gheleta, George Kerewicz, Lourdes Carini, and Carol Stewart. Larry and Loretta Knight, from Let’s Talk Events did a great job as MC’s.

The “feature car” was an armored truck, (with a built in ATM) courtesy of Guaranty Bank, one of the main sponsors of the show this year. George Borg only displayed two of his aisle-long car collection; the ’33 Ford Woodie, and ’64 Bentley.

Other sponsors of the show included PDI (Peninsula Digital Imaging), Redwood City Saltworks, El Centro de Libertad, DES Architects + Engineers, Michael Akana Travel Adventures, Al Graf Bail Bonds, Nicole McKay, Capital Mortgage Lending, Professional Eviction Services, Lynne Mercer and Coldwell Banker, Let’s Talk Events, Maureen Fish EA Accounting Services and Income Tax Preparation, Lourdes Carini and Capital Mortgage Lending, Cañada College, David Amann and Edward Jones,  Lynn Auto Machine and Donna Vaillancourt.

There were several food and arts and crafts vendors, like “Flamin’ Dogs”, Cookie Lee’s Jewelry.  A big draw was Mike Akana’s Travel Adventures, with prizes and brochures for cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, and more.

As the parade of cars came through, it was clear that pride of ownership was in each one, as they slowly glided by; some bounced and rocked, some swooshed and steamed.

A top-notch band, Roy McKinney’s “Brother Buzz” kept the crowd cycling in and their spirits high, and a pleasure to have them put out great music.

Raffle prizes were given all day long; people continued to come in to see the end of the show. Old friends, new friends and long, lost relatives all came together to enjoy another wonderful event produced by the Woodside Terrace A.M. Kiwanis Club.
