Installation Party by Lynne Mercer
Our Woodside Terrace A.M. club held our annual installation/deinstallation dinner this year at the home of incoming President, Glenn Behm. Glenn has the perfect back yard for a BBQ pot luck party, and he made it easy to find his house (it’s the one with the giant inflatable football player in the front yard.) After a cold summer, we lucked out on the weather, which was perfect!! Larry provided hot dogs and hamburgers, with other club members bringing salads, hors d’oevres, desserts, and a great assortment of dishes. We were pleased to see so many in attendance, and everybody had a great time.
After making sure that we all had plenty to eat, MC for the event, Bill Morris, called the meeting to order. President Roy summarized our accomplishments and events this year and then proceeded to hand our recognition certificates for attendance, committee chairs, and multiple other categories, including such creative awards as “Just a Phone Call Away,” “Always Willing to Help,” and, special for Roger Frey, “Best Happy Birthday Wisher.”
Following that, our current, soon to be retired Lt. Gov., Mike Akana, and his replacement, incoming Lt. Gov. Rick Stern, de-installed the outgoing officers and board members and installed the new. Our new officers are: President, Glenn Behm; President Elect, George Kerewicz ; Past President, Roy Souffront; Treasurer, Maureen Fish; Secretary, Lynne Mercer . Directors are: Carol Stewart, Kerrie O’Donnell, Steve Dellinger, Larry Graves, Barbara Liedtke , and Bill Morris.
Thanks Glenn for hosting the party, and Carol for organizing everything (what would we do without you??) and everybody else for coming and making it a great event. Woodside Terrace Kiwanis is looking forward to another terrific year!!
